GPS/GIS WORKSHOP INVITATION TORONTO

The Toronto Branch of the Canadian Institute of Geomatics (CIG) is pleased to invite you to a full-day GPS/GIS workshop covering the following topics:

  • GPS essentials (observables, data formats, accuracy specs)
  • GPS Tools, Techniques and Services available in Canada and the accuracies expected (highlighting NRCan's GPS correction services: CDGPS for metre-level accuracy in real-time and CSRS-PPP for cm-level accuracy with free online next-day post-processing)
  • Datum issues (NAD27, NAD83, NAD83(CSRS), WGS84, ITRF)
  • How to obtain the most accurate Mean-sea-level heights using GPS and a Geoid model
  • What's new and exciting in GPS NRCan basemap and geodetic products (maps, satellite imagery,DEM's, benchmarks and geodetic control monuments)
  • The latest (free and low-cost) GIS/GPS software and services

Cost: - $100 for CIG members, early registration (by Nov. 8, 2005)/ $140 late registration
- $150 for non-members, early registration (by Nov. 8, 2005)/ $190 for late registration (Registering non-members get an introductory full membership for an additional $35)
- $15 for member students
- $25 for non-member students (will get CIG membership for an additional $15)
Refreshments and lunch will be served. Space is limited; the venue can accommodate a maximum of 30 people.
