This position is located in Chilliwack, however other locations within the Business Area may be considered. An eligibility list may be established for similar vacancies within the BC Timber Sales Chinook Business Area (Chilliwack, Squamish, Powell River, and Daajing Giids (formerly Village of Queen Charlotte)).
BC Timber Sales (BCTS) manages about 20 per cent of the province’s allowable annual cut for Crown timber, generating economic prosperity for British Columbians through the safe, sustainable development and auction of Crown timber. BCTS operates in 33 communities and directly supports over 8,000 jobs across B.C.
The goal of BCTS is to provide credible representative price and cost benchmark data for the market pricing system through auctions of timber harvested from public land in BC.
The Business Area GIS Team Lead/Supervisor works within the business area managing local GIS staff and providing expert advice to local management, technical and professional staff as well as stakeholders, First Nations and industry clients on the use and interpretation of corporate data set(s) to maximize the potential of GIS and related geospatial and information technologies in support of business area objectives.

Reporting to the Senior Survey Technician the function of the Survey Technician is to perform technical tasks and ensure that the delivery of highway engineering and survey/mapping services are technically correct and that they meet Ministry standards.
Located in the heart of the Selkirk Mountains, Nelson is home to a large variety of outdoor activities, and its proximity to Whitewater Ski Resort allows for skiers of all levels to test out the Nelson powder. Nelson also hosts events all year long, such as the Cottonwood Farmers Market and the Shambhala Music Festival.
Known most famously for their Kermode (Spirit) Bear, Terrace is perfect for hiking, mountain biking, camping, rock climbing, canoeing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing.
